Meet Ella Your Tennis Professional
Born in Southern Romania, Ella Ionescu began playing tennis at the age of seven. Inspired by her father, who played in local tournaments, she followed her dream of becoming a professional tennis player in the United States. She moved to Hartford, Connecticut in 1989 accepting a full tennis scholarship to Rick Macci's Tennis Academy in Lake Wales, Florida. It is here where she trained among the best players like Venus and Serena Williams.
Her junior tennis career began with attending World Renowned Tennis Academies like Nick Bollettieri, John Newcombe, and Rick Macci.
Ella graduated from Naples High school where she played on the team in the # 1 position. Ella won the collegiate Nationals Championship her freshman year. Immediately after, Ella began to play on the women's professional tour traveling to Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America.
Ella is a passionate, enthusiastic tennis pro who wants to share her love of tennis with her students. Her highest professional accomplishment reached 290 WTA (World) Ranking.
Her love for playing and teaching continues throughout her 20 + year career. She currently enjoys teaching all levels from beginners, recreation, USTA League Level, and tournament level play.
Ella is USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registration) Certified. She believes in improving YOUR game using her vast teaching and tournament player knowledge and experience while having FUN!!!
